Hoping to catch a live concert or two this summer? The Boulder area has you covered with summer concerts. Rock & Rails in Niwot and Bands on the Bricks on Pearl Street are offering a great selection of live performances from June through August, so take a look at the details below if you’d like to attend.
Rock & Rails
Niwot, Colorado is just a short distance from Boulder, and its annual Rock & Rails event is a local favorite. Hosted at Whistle Stop Park each Thursday from June 7 to August 30, this summer concert series is perfect for getting outdoors and enjoying some live music. The festivities occur between 5:00 and 9:00pm, so you can choose to stop by for part or all of the show. On Thursday evenings in the summertime, you can expect the event to kick off with happy hour and opening performances. The headliners will begin at 6:30 pm, so be sure to arrive by then if you’re anticipating the main attraction. An awesome lineup is scheduled for this year. Keep in mind that outside alcohol is not permitted, and bags and coolers will be scanned at the gate. Food trucks will be available, as well as a selection of local beers and specialty drinks. Proceeds from the summer series concerts benefit the Niwot Cultural Arts Association and Niwot Business Association, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to support the community.
Bands on the Bricks in Boulder
There’s an abundance of summer entertainment in the Boulder area, and Bands on the Bricks is another excellent example. On Wednesdays from June 6 to August 8, visit the iconic Pearl Street for a diverse lineup of musical performances. A little bit of everything is featured here, from ‘80s tunes to alternative rock. The Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this year, so the 4thon Pearl edition of Bands on the Bricks is sure to be spectacular. The first band begins at 1:00 pm on the fourth, and fireworks will be visible from Folsom Field starting at nightfall (around 9:45 pm).
The outdoor beer and wine garden opens at 5:30 each Wednesday, so you’ll have the opportunity to sip on famous Rio margaritas and sample a variety of local craft beers.
