There are many volunteer opportunities near our apartment in Boulder. One of the most beneficial in terms of health, physical activity and the generosity of others is that of Community Cycles.
Founded in 2006 by a handful of bicycle enthusiasts, Community Cycles has become one of the most important small businesses to Boulder’s bicycle boom and they’ve got plenty of ways you can take part and give back.
The Earn-A-Bike Program: Volunteers that are sixteen years old and older are eligible to be apart of this program that affords you the opportunity to reuse and re-cycle a bicycle that may have been apart of a trash pile. You will also learn the bicycle mechanics over the course of a fifteen hour work-trade.
Kids Holiday Bike Giveaway: You can make the dream of a child come true by donating a bicycle to Community Cycles. This program makes it possible for children to win a bicycle that has been refurbished by volunteers, by showing their report cards and birth certificate.
Boulder Bike Ambassador: Get out of your home at Habitat and work side by side with your fellow neighbor to educate your community about bicycle safety.
So how are you giving back to the Boulder community? Share your noble actions for others to follow and participate on our Facebook page.
