Ride Tour de Cure Colorado from Boulder County Fairgrounds

Tour de CureColorado is one of the healthiest states in the country. Exercise, high altitude, and balanced diets makes for a healthy combination. This month, come and show your support for healthy living by signing up for the Tour de Cure, which is coming to town on August 17, 2013. Of all of the events starting at the Boulder County Fairgrounds this year, this will be one of the most important.

Each year, thousands of participants show up to participate in this cycling extravaganza. There are multiple races ranging from 20K to 100K, so you can ride for as long as you want. Every dollar you raise will be used to help fund diabetes research and reach for a cure.

Since more and more Americans are being diagnosed with diabetes, now is the time when we can pull together and help fund the programs and scientists who are racing to defeat the damaging affects the illness can cause.

Your July 4 Lineup: BBQ and Boulder’s Biggest Fireworks

This year’s Fourth of July events near our Boulder apartments are going to be so exciting that they will stir every patriotic bone in your body. Here are some of our top suggestions for a Fourth of July you will never forget.

Start the celebrations off with an afternoon BBQ right here at Habitat apartments. Our gas grills are right outside by the heated pool, and it is a great place for you to gather your friends together before you head off into town to watch the fireworks.

After dinner, you can head on over to Folsom Field for Ralphie’s Annual Fireworks Show. At 8 p.m., the Monarch High School Marching Band, Open Space & Mountain Rangers, Skippitz, and many more will be performing for your entertainment prior to the fireworks display. As always, remember to arrive early to avoid the crowds as this is the area’s most popular venue for watching the show.

After the fireworks and festivities, head on over to Pearl Street Mall where many of the area restaurants will be having their own little patriotic shindigs.

Eat Up! Food Truck Parties at Gunbarrel Commons Park

That delicious smell you can taste wafting through the air is coming from the many food trucks near our apartment in Boulder that are busy cooking up some of the finest sandwiches, pizzas and BBQ in the state. So, grab your keys, pull out your GPS, and make your way towards them because you’re definitely going to want to sample what they’re cooking up.

Now, the city doesn’t allow the trucks to park in the city, that’s why the Food Truck Parties meet over at Gunbarrel Commons Park…which is in the county. There, the Comida truck cooks up the tacos and burritos; the Crock Spot simmers old school soups and stews and the Heirloom Truck serves up some of the freshest cheese, tempura and vegetables in the entire area.

And, every once in a while, the Top of the Hill Grill fires up their pit and chars up some of the most delicious baby back ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket this state has seen since Daddy Bruce shut down.
