Fall in Colorado is awash with celebrations and harvest festivals, from mountain towns to the Front Range. What better way to ring in the season than by attending Oktoberfest in Niwot. While many Colorado towns are host to Oktoberfest celebrations this time of year (check out this website for a comprehensive list of all of them), Niwot’s small-town charm makes it the perfect location for the festival. Get out of your apartment while the weather is still nice to enjoy this German-style celebration on Saturday, October 4th. [Read more…]
Sign Up to Race the Sprint Triathlon at Boulder Reservoir
Feel like life is a little slow right now? Are you in need of a little excitement and a reminder that you can choose to live life in the fast lane when you want? If that sounds like you, maybe you should lace up your shoes, put on your running gear, and run one of the Boulder races this year.
The next race coming to town will be on June 1, 2014. That’s the day the Boulder Sprint Triathlon will take place at the Boulder Reservoir. From 4:30 to 11 am, the best runners, riders, and swimmers in the area will be competing for places on the pedestal, and you are more than welcome to sign up and show off your athletic prowess.
The course will consist of a 750-meter swim and a 17.2-mile bike ride, and it will be capped off with a 5K run that will take you around the east side of the Reservoir. If you’re up for it, you will never forget the experience.
Full of outdoor adventure and competitive events, Boulder is an ideal location for the runner or athlete, and our Boulder apartments with a heated pool, trail, and tennis courts make it easy to stay active right at home. For more information about becoming a Habitat resident, contact us, and we will be happy to rush the details your way just as fast as we can.
Donate to Boulder Organizations on Colorado Gives Day 2013
Join your fellow Coloradans on Dec. 10 as we give back to our Boulder community. Starting at 12 a.m., make a donation to local non-profit organizations within 24 hours to support Colorado Gives Day 2013.
On ColoradoGives.org, search for charities by location and cause, and click “Donate Now” on their profile page to donate as little as $10 by credit card or bank account information. Here, you can also set up recurring donations to keep the giving going all year.
In addition, every donation made will get a boost from FirstBank’s $250,000 Incentive Fund. Plus, if you get all your friends to support your favorite non-profit organization, that charity will be entered in a pool of prizes of $5,000 each (for organizations with 30 or more donations made). As even more incentive to donate, donors can go to FirstBank’s Facebook page on Dec. 10 to answer trivia questions and donate a prize to their charity of choice.
So, who can you donate to? If you want to keep it local, check out organizations like the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center or Boulder Community Hospital Foundation (search our zip code 80301). ColoradoGives.org also features more regional causes like the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado and Bicycle Colorado.
In conjunction with Colorado Gives Day, you’ll find events to celebrate the day, like cocktail parties, benefit concerts and other special events. Tell your philanthropic neighbors at our Gunbarrel apartments how you plan to give back this holiday season at The Habitat Apartments on Facebook.
