May 21, 2013 By Habitat Apts Leave a Comment

Hanuman FestivalThere are many reasons that you should be incorporating yoga into your exercise regimen at our apartments in Boulder. It keeps you limber, it keeps you healthy, and it’s a great way to meet new and interesting people who share your same interests.

This summer, the Hanuman Festival will be taking place from June 13 to June 16, 2013. This festival of yoga, music, and enlightenment is one of the best yoga festivals in Boulder during the summer, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on the fun.

This event brings together some of the best yogis and experts in the country, including Richard Freeman and Rod Stryker, and it allows everyone from beginners to experts to learn everything they can about the benefits of yoga. Whether you need help with technique or integrating yoga into your exercise routine, this is the event for you.

In between yoga classes, you can take a break with tea, gluten-free foods, and other healthy eats from local restaurants and explore the Vendor Village for organic products, massages, and information from local studios. It all takes place less than 20 minutes from The Habitat Apartments.

You can register now or wait until the event to sign up. A three-day pass for the festival is $349, and it is worth every penny!

2 Boulder Races to Start Hitting the Jogging Trail For

May 9, 2013 By Habitat Apts Leave a Comment

FlickrThere are some fantastic races coming up this summer and fall. As any good runner knows, now’s the time to start preparing for the big day so that you’ll make it across the finish line with a top time.

These two Boulder races are the most popular in the area, and you won’t want to exclude them from you schedule because they are some of the most competitive races you will ever run:

  1. The West End 3K will take place on June 5, 2013 at 6:00 pm. Runners will gather at 11th and Pearl Street and run around downtown before crossing the finish line right where they started. Afterward, you can take advantage of the awesome shopping, dining, and festivities that will fill the air.
  2. The Boulder Stroke & Stride will be a swim and run contest that will take place on multiple Thursdays this summer. Each race starts at 6:00 pm, and competitors will meet at the Boulder Reservoir where they’ll don their shorts and give it a go.

Are you participating in any upcoming races in the Boulder area? Let us know on Facebook or in the comments section below!

Warm-Weather Boulder Traditions to Look Forward to this Spring

April 23, 2013 By Habitat Apts Leave a Comment

Boulder Creek Festival

Enjoy the rides, food and entertainment of Boulder Creek Festival.

Now that the snow has finally started to melt from the hills around Boulder, it would be a great time to get outside and explore the Rockies.

This Memorial Day weekend, don’t forget to get out and enjoy the Boulder Creek Festival. This annual event, May 25-27, is preceded by a race that draws thousands of runners from across the country to our neck of the woods. After everyone cools off, there is plenty of fun still to be had. Between the food, the duck race, the music, and the art, it is a day you’ll never forget.

There is also the Boulder Farmers Market to explore on Saturdays, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., and Wednesdays, 4-8 p.m., next to Central Park in downtown Boulder. While it is still too early for most of the crops to be harvested, there are plenty of goods to be found. Between the flowers and the honey, you will not walk away disappointed.

Boulder Farmers Market

Shop local food and produce at the Boulder Farmers Market.

Finally, the Boulder Outdoor Cinema is the perfect way to end any day. Started in 1995, they have been showcasing some of the best movies on the outdoor big screen to satisfied audiences throughout Boulder.
