Though summer may be winding down, Niwot’s annual Rock & Rails summer concert series is still in full swing. The series has been running all summer long, but August is the event’s final month and one not to be missed. Here’s what you should know about Niwot’s Rock & Rails before summer ends:
Where and When
Every Thursday night from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., relax amidst food trucks, beer vendors, and an array of musical talent.
Specifically, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., enjoy happy hour with drink specials and opening musical acts. From 6:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m., experience the evening’s headlining performers in the beautiful surroundings of Whistle Stop Park in Niwot. The event series ends on August 31 with the headlining act The Hazel Miller Band.
Know Before You Go
There will be plenty of local beer vendors each Thursday night, so leave your outside beverages at home. Feel free to bring a cooler for your own food and snacks, however.
No need to leave your best friend (your dog, of course) home alone – bring your well-behaved pooch to the park with you (just make sure they stay on-leash). The atmosphere can become loud and certainly crowded when the music plays, so be sure your furry buddy is comfortable in such surroundings.
While some food and beer vendors will accept credit and debit cards, not all will. Bring some cash to ensure that you’ll snag your favorite food trucks and craft brews.
Feel free to bring foldable chairs and blankets to the park, as well. Make yourself at home, sit back, and enjoy summer while it lasts.
Performances
August 3: Summerland Sun opens for Motown-headliners One on One
August 10: Matt Skellenger & Matt Reid open for The Devon Parker Band
August 17: Todd Adelman opens for The Long Run
August 24: Tim Ostdiek opens for FACE
…and for the final Rock & Rails concert of the year…
August 31: Colorado-native Nalani is set to open for the tour de force that is The Hazel Miller Band
Make your way down the street into Niwot and Whistle Stop Park before the summer ends. After all, Rock & Rails is the proud recipient of the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence for Best Promotional Event for a reason.
