No matter how hard we try, many of us still find ourselves giving up on our New Year’s fitness and health resolutions halfway through the year. It’s challenging to stay motivated and stick to a workout regiment. Luckily for Boulder residents though, the city has many public spaces and gyms where you can stay active to meet your New Year’s goals.
Boulder is one of the healthiest towns in the country, so it’s no surprise that the community is invested in fitness. Residents love to engage in outdoor activities like hiking, mountain climbing, biking, and running. Unfortunately during the winter, with the holidays and snowy weather, many people are unable to maintain a steady fitness routine. However, once the festivities die down and the weather warms up, it’s a great time to reboot your exercise routine.
Eaton Park and Twin Lakes
Boulder offers many fantastic recreational spots to help you get back on track with your wellness objectives. Located a short walk from Habitat Apartments, you’ll find two scenic public spaces for working out: Eaton Park and Twin Lakes.
Eaton Park has unpaved trails where you can run, bike, or go on a nature walk. Another beautiful recreational area is Twin Lakes. The open space is a wetland reserve with designated trails surrounding two lakes; it’s a great place for hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, runners, and joggers. Visitors are able to partake in their activity of choice, while enjoying the scenic views and serene atmosphere.
Valmont Bike Park
Boulder residents determined to up their cycling routine can head over to Valmont Bike Park. The biker’s haven is just a short drive away from our North Boulder rentals, off of Valmont Road. It’s a 42-acre park that features various riding terrains, including cross-country trails, dirt hills, and a racecourse. Valmont is open to bikers of all ages and all skill levels.
Anytime Fitness
If you need a place to exercise during rainy days or on weeknights after work, then consider joining Anytime Fitness. Formerly known as Gunbarrel Athletic Club, the newly redesigned gym is within walking distance of our apartment complex. In addition to their wide selection of cardio and weight lifting equipment, Anytime Fitness also offers cycling, Pilates, and Zumba classes. The gym has personal trainers too, for those in need of extra help achieving their New Year’s wellness goals.
Regardless of how you like to exercise, Boulder is the ideal community for people invested in being physically active. If you’ve faltered on your resolution, just look to your fellow residents and surrounding habitat for motivation to stay fit and healthy.
